Grey scare

We had a bit of a scare a few weeks ago - Greyson was not himself for a week or so and we thought it was another cold - but it kept getting worse and worse. Then his temp shot up and his poop (sorry about this but when you have a kid with BA - poop is your life!) turned a lighter yellow color. Well needless to say, Frank and I started getting very nervous - because this is what happened last time when he had cholangitis - which is basically an infection in his liver. When I saw the diaper all I could remember was our last hospital stay and how I didn't want to do that again. It is so heart breaking to see your child in the hospital and feeling so helpless....my heart was breaking just thinking about it. I called his GI Dr and while I was waiting for them to call me back - I started packing our bags, I figured we would be at DeVos for another week of antibiotics. And as hard as I try to be positive - my mind started racing - and I began worrying and worrying and worrying! But, thankfully, the GI office returned my call soon after and reported that a bad gastro bug had been going around and they thought it sounded like what he had - so off we went to Grey's pediatrician. Dr Warmoth checked him over and had labs drawn and low and behold it was a gastro bug! Okay, take a breath - relax.......I guess it just reminded me of how lucky we are that Greyson has been doing so good health wise. After he was diagnosed with BA - I took stock of my life and really realized what is important - my kids - and cherish every moment with them. Its hard to believe - but I was starting to take this for granted again - and maybe that is why this small scare happened - it once again reminded me to be thankful and appreciate every moment you have - because it can all be taken away at the blink of an eye.
