Labor Day in Pentwater.....

Every Labor Day (for awhile now) we have been heading to Pentwater to spend the day on the boat with Dave, Kathy and the kids and of course, Grandma and Grandpa! It is a highly anticipated event - the kids can't wait to get on that boat! This year we were lucky enough to have fabulous weather and we were able to take a boat ride down to Silver Lake! The water was a bit cold for swimming (although most of us did get in at one time or another - the beer helped keep me warm!!!!) but we still had a great time watching the dune buggies.......it was another great trip and we can't wait for next year!

Beach pics

We tried to get some family pics of us on the beach - but it was WAY too windy that day....as you can see from our hair blowing all over in the pics! Oh well, what can you do......here are some of the shots - even one of grandma and grandpa drexler with all their grandkids!

Emma and Coley

Franks sisters live on the east side of the state and because of everyone's busy schedules, we don't see each other much......but when we do, Emma always has so much fun with her cousins. While in South Carolina, Emma and her cousin Cole, were inseperable. They were so darn cute.....here are some shots of the two-some!

Early morning walks......

Wow, just seeing these shots reminds me how beautiful it was there.....truly god's country! I so enjoyed going out first thing in the morning with the kids (exploring, as Emma would say) - we would usually go in their pj's and just enjoy the scenery. It was so peaceful and my only wish is that we could do that every morning!

Emma the beach babe.....

Emma had so much fun swimming......we would go to the beach around 9am and swim till lunch time.....then we would go eat and take naps (it was brutually hot around this time) and then it was back to swimming after a nap.......it was hard to get the kids to leave the beach.....I kept thinking they would get tired of it after awhile.....but oh no, that didn't happen......

Greyson the beach bum.....

Well, finally some South Carolina pics......we had such a great vacation this year - we went with Frank's family to Hunting Island State Park in South Carolina. It is absolutely gorgeous there....and it was so relaxing to hang by the beach for a week. Our cabins were right on the ocean and that is where we spent most of our time.....swimming and shelling! Emma especially liked looking for shells and sand dollars everyday when the tide went out. Every morning the kids and I would get up early and take a walk on the beach - and we would see the dolphins swimming by! One morning we even watched a fisherman catch a sting-ray - that was really cool! Here are some pics of my little water baby, Greyson.....my kids have always been water kids (boating is in their blood!) but they just LOVED the ocean....and it was so warm - like bath water.......the only problem with Greyson was getting him to keep his swimmy diaper on - he much preferred to go naked! Only negative to go nude - is that sand gets everywhere!!!!!!

MIA

Well, I can't believe it has been so long since I last blogged - where has the time gone?!?!?!? But, between end of the summer activities, preparing for the new school year and work - we have been busy busy busy! I guess I decided to sit back and smell the flowers for awhile......enjoy my little family.......but I am going to try and do some posting in the next few days.....I hope everyone is having a great Fall!
