South Carolina

We had an absolutely fabulous vacation in South Carolina......I have over two hundred pictures that I am digging thru - so there will be several posts to come.....here is a sampling.......

Uncle Dave's

Fourth of July we went over to Dave and Kathy's house for a cook-out - and we had a blast! They have the BEST backyard - it is a kid mecca - huge pool, swingset, trampoline - you name it, they got it all!!!!! The kids love playing with Jorden and Cameron.....and we finished up the evening by driving down the street and watching the GH fireworks (from afar!!!)........if you can't have your own pool, its great to have family and friends with one!!!!!

Messy Marvin

All I can say is - thank heaven for bleach! I don't think that kid got one thing in his mouth that day - he was FILTHY! Such a boy......

Emma's Pics

Last Sunday Frank & I decided to stain our deck.....so while we were doing that - Emma decided to take my camera and "pose" Greyson for some pictures! We were cracking up when we heard her yelling at him to SMILE! Anyways, here are some of the pictures she took.....not too bad for her first time!

My little super model......

I have really began to enjoy photography and especially taking pictures of my kids......I am even thinking of taking a class or two - just for fun.......I wish I could afford a big new fancy camera - but until I win the lottery, I will do the best I can with what I have......anywho, on this particular day Emma was loving posing (and being silly) so I took a few of her.....and here they are!

Moe-Moe

Greyson has a new obsession.....you might have guessed it.....its NEMO (Moe-Moe as he calls him)! Every night right before bed, he asks to watch Moe-Moe....and it has driven Emma absolutely nutso......she watched it the first hundred times - but after that, has gotten a little tired of it! Last nite he even had orange PJ's on.....just like Moe-Moe!

The van.......is dead! RIP

Well, its been one of those weeks! Me and the kids were running errands last Friday and we got into an accident! We weren't going very fast - but the other car slammed into us and it made quite a noise - so the kids were pretty shook up! Fortunately, everyone was okay.......except my van! The kids and I even got to sit in the back of a police car (Greyson was thrilled!)!!! Unfortunately, the insurance adjuster determined it would be over $4000 to fix the van - so they have decided to total it! Not good, especially since we had one more payment to go and plans for that extra money we would have! Thankfully, my mom has once again saved the day - and very unselfishly went without a car all week and let us borrow her car (thanks mom!)! I must admit, when I went to clean our personal belongings out today - it made me kinda sad - don't get me wrong - I NEVER thought I would drive a mini-van - but its just perfect for us right now - we could NEVER do a car at this point in time.....we just have too much STUFF......and that van never gave us one bit of problems.......it just drove us round-trip to South Carolina, not to mention the memories of bringing home both my kids in it.......so it did make me a bit sad (both kids cried when the tow truck took it away!!!!!!) But, everything happens for a reason - so its onto the next vehicle.........

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Well, after a week of not so good news (my van), I was absolutely thrilled to hear from Greyson's nurse practitioner today. Over the last two weeks, he had his labs drawn and an ultrasound done (regular six month check-up). I have been nervously awaiting word from the GI office.....so when Karen called me today at work and gave me the good news - I was ECSTATIC! She reported that all of his liver enzyme levels were nearly in the "normal" range! Basically, there was only one that was a bit elevated - but has always been elevated, so she wasn't too concerned........I asked her, so this is the best his levels have ever been right? Her answer was YES!! Also, the ultrasound looked great - last time there was some signs of minimal portal hypertension - and this time the flow was normal! She said there was some signs of fibrosis on the liver (basically some liver damage) but nothing to be concerned with. Basically, she told me there is still no way to say with 100% certainty that Greyson might some day need a liver transplant - but for now he is doing great and we should celebrate! We are so thankful and pray that this good health continues.....thank you to everyone that keeps Greyson in their prayers.....please continue because its working!

My two sweeties......

This makes me smile - happy kids!!! I knew they liked each other!!!!!

Ouch!!!!

I received a call from Emma's school the other day - it was water day and the kids were out on the playground running in the sprinklers and playing on the water slide and Emma and another boy ran into each other! The teacher said you could hear their heads smack! Needless to say, mommy was on the way to give hugs and kissses. I felt TERRIBLE when I saw her eye - she could barely open it! Now the swelling has gone down - but it has turned some lovely purple colors! She is such a trooper she hardly complained - she was more worried about what the other kids would think......where did that come from??????

Happy 2nd birthday Grey!

Monday was Greyson's second birthday! I can hardly believe he is two - it seems like just yesterday when he was born! He was so excited when we told him it was his birthday and he was two fingers old (as he shows five fingers!!!!) Its amazing to me how much they progress in two years - he went from this little tiny baby to a big boy that is very independent (he often tells me "no-no, mama" when I try to help him)!!!! He is talking up a storm - and has so much to tell us. He is ALL boy - he climbs EVERYTHING (and is going to make me go grey even earlier)! He is VERY brave (he has been through alot more pokes and prodding then most people do in a lifetime) and is always the first to try things at school (like the huge water slide!)! He is my little sweetheart and I couldn't imagine our family without his smiling little face (and loud voice!!!!). So, Happy Birthday Greyson Finn .....it was two years ago that you entered our lives and we will forever be changed.......I love you so very much little man.......
